The Best Splash Pads in Dallas

One of our favorite things to do on a hot summer day is visit one of these splash pads on our list of the best splash pads in Dallas! Splash pads are great source of free or cheap family fun for kids and toddlers. No matter where you’re located in DFW, you won’t have to travel far to find one near your home!


Ridgewood Park Splashpad // 6818 Fisher Rd, Dallas,TX 75214

The free community splash pad at Ridgewood Park in Dallas is conveniently located near Mockingbird and Abrams in East Dallas. This is a great sprayground for toddlers and kids thanks to its multiple water features. There is also a covered pavilion with picnic tables and shaded seating under a tree right next to the splash pad. We also hear this is a great spot for summer birthday parties! Just make sure to reserve the pavilion through the City of Dallas.


Frisco Commons Spray Park // 8000 McKinney Rd, Frisco, TX 75034

There are so many things to love about the splash pad at Frisco Commons! This is a free and fun sprayground for all ages. First, I loved that it covered a large area so there was plenty of room to spread out. There are also several covered pavilions with plenty of seating for parents to keep an eye on kids without baking in the sun. I also appreciated the restrooms located right next to the splash pad! Definitely try to go early enough to enjoy the next door playground at Hope Park before it gets too hot. It’s a huge playground with special areas for toddlers and bigger kids.

Klyde Warren Park is known for its delicious food trucks and fun events, but did you know it also has three splash areas for kids to play in year-round? We love that our toddlers can cool off in the water while the parents can cool off with a frozen margarita from La Parada. You’ll also find a large green space with free-to-rent yard games, an area with life-size building blocks, plus the newly renovated playground is scheduled to reopen in late summer 2022! On top of all this, there are also restrooms and covered seating areas to make your visit even more comfortable.


Oak Hills Splash Park // 1225 Royal Palm Ln, Carrollton, TX 75010

This free community splash pad in Carrollton is especially fun for older toddlers and kids! It features two slides and almost looks like a miniature water park. This one is perfect for adventurous kids! There are two covered seating areas for parents as well. Try to go early in the day to take advantage of the fun pirate-themed playground located right next to the splash pad!


The splash pads at The Dallas Arboretum // 8525 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218

Though a trip to the Dallas Arboretum isn’t free,  it is more than worth the money! There are three splash pads at the arboretum. One splash pad is located in the main garden, but our two favorite splash areas are located in the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden (which does cost extra on top of general admission). You’ll find the first splash pad in the children’s garden as soon as you enter, and the second in the First Adventure play area. Of course, you can explore all of the other amazing activities in the Children’s Garden while you’re there! Make sure to check out the Texas Skywalk that leads to the tree house above the garden, the Pure Energy exhibit for hands-on learning about natural energy, plus the Exploration Center to view the OmniGlobe. This Flower Mound splash pad is one of the nicest and cleanest splash pads we’ve visited in DFW! We especially love this one because it’s almost fully shaded. It’s gated and there is plenty of seating for parents. You’ll also find bathrooms and a shaded playground nearby!


Splash pads are a great way to get kids out of the house and away from the TV. With a visit to one of these spraygrounds, your kids will have an active day followed by a good night’s sleep!
